I am Carla and I was born in Barcelona 25 years ago.

I am a very creative person, I love to do crafts since I was a child. Back then I used to spend all the time drawing and making little models of furniture and other figures. So I have always known what I wanted to become when growing up.

What I love the most in architecture is the world of sustainable and renewable energies. As well as rehabilitation of degraded buildings in order to prolong their life and allow them to accommodate a new use.

A less commercial side of architecture that I also love, is the one of self-construction, building a house with your own hands with very little resources, both economically and of materials. In Italy I had the opportunity to develop an academic project in Kigali, Rwanda, employing self-construction techniques. I also did a workshop in which we had to make a raw earth brick wall by ourselves. I can say for sure that this was one of the most fulfilling of my academic experiences.

For me, sustainable and renewable energies are the best option for the future of architecture. My goal in life is to work combining both of the subjects I have talked about, even if I know it is not easy. I would love to travel so I could learn more about it and gain experience.
